Ureki (Georgia) is one of the most popular resorts in the country, which is located in the west of the state. Despite the fact that Ureki is only a village 50 km from Batumi, local authorities are developing infrastructure at an accelerated pace: new hotels and hotels have been built over the past decade, and several large shops have opened. Pop stars come here in the summer and arrange concerts by the sea. And one of the best attractions in Georgia is located a 10-minute drive from the city. Magnetic sand in Ureki is the main, and perhaps the only attraction of the village. Despite the fact that there are many beaches with black sands in other countries (Costa Rica, Iceland, Bulgaria, the Philippines), only in Georgia it is a healing remedy and is used for physiotherapy purposes. According to scientists, there are no analogues of Ureki beach anywhere in the world, because here the sand is highly magnetized (contains up to 70% magnetite), which is why it has a beneficial effect on the human body and can cure many serious diseases. Magnetic therapy treats diseases of the heart and blood vessels, musculoskeletal and nervous systems, respiratory organs, rickets, cerebral palsy, injuries, etc. The healing process is especially positive and fast for children, but there are exceptions to everything. People with tuberculosis, asthma, blood problems and malignant tumors are not recommended to fall on magnetic sands, as they can worsen the problems. For everyone else, a vacation in Ureki on a sandy beach will not only be pleasant, but will also benefit.

Tourism in Georgia: forecasts and prospects for 2025

According to the national tourism development strategy, by 2025 Georgia will be known as a leading tourist country capable of providing world-class service at any time of the year, according to the head of the National Tourism Administration, Georgy Chogovadze.

The «Tourism Development Strategy in Georgia — 2025» was developed by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia together with the National Tourism Administration with financial and technical support from the World Bank. The goal of the strategy is to develop the economic situation of the country.

Despite the fact that the region had a difficult economic and political situation last year, the year turned out to be successful, as evidenced by the almost seven percent increase in the number of tourists and visitors. In January-November 2015, the number of foreign visitors to Georgia increased by 6.9% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 5 million 431 thousand 723 people.
